What sets us aside from the competition is our unrivaled commitment to quality control, and dedicated involvement in the manufacturing process. We don’t pay anyone to make our product, all our products are assembled in house.
Sharf’s mission is to build and distribute the highest quality shears at competitive prices. During our founding we discovered that the only way to do this is to become involved with product construction at every step along the way. We personally source the finest Japanese stainless steel, hand manufacture in our own facilities, and run quality control and hand polish on every single Sharf product. Just like a sharp blade, we feel quality shouldn’t be played around with.
The first incarnation of the Sharf brand came together 17 years ago as a pet supply business. Over the years we realized that there was a tremendous gap in the cost of shears. There were borderline-disposable ones for $5 that gave a couple cuts and then broke, or $300-$500 professional shears that only the peak professionals would invest in.
That didn’t make sense to us, and we did some research to find out if our suspicion was correct: premium quality shears could be made and priced for far less.
Eureka! It was possible to do and we immediately began figuring out how to do it. After a long process of making contacts with the best steel suppliers, building designs & molds, and testing finished products, we finally arrived and became what you see today. Over the past 10 years we’ve always sought to improve our users' experience and provide the highest quality customer service possible. We’re proud of what we build, and we’re excited to build with our customers going forward into the future.
